The Bournemouth and Poole BSF Programme is a key part of the sustainable development of the conurbation and is the highest development priority for both Councils. The BSF Programme is part of a wider transformation in the effective delivery of children’s services, and has a key role in meeting the Local Authorities’ wider strategic ambitions in delivering children’s services. As such, the programme is fostering a community partnership and specifically a partnership of all schools, in support of both Local Authorities’ strategic plans. This once in a lifetime opportunity will enable the delivery of our vision.
The Bournemouth and Poole BSF vision is: to transform education and the lives of all children and young people in Bournemouth and Poole:
Through active participation in communities of mutual care and respect children and young people are empowered to be responsible and active citizens within their school and wider communities;
By creating inspirational and sustainable learning environments that support this transformation and enhance the learning journey;
By enabling every individual to access opportunities and support tailored to their individual needs, promote emotional well-being and to develop the attitudes, attributes, skills and knowledge which will give them confidence to succeed in a changing world and prepare them for employment;
By achieving this in a context of inclusion and in response to local needs, with schools as the specialist centres of excellence, providing access to a full range of services, multi-agency support, sports, arts and leisure activities at the heart of their communities;
By raising educational standards for all children in Bournemouth and Poole through a coordinated partnership approach to support that achieves better outcomes, which in turn will help young people engage, learn and achieve, and provides recognition of the goals they have achieved;
By working in a professional and formal partnership to guarantee the aspirations of the community, parents and young people. Holding to account partners that are not yet able to fulfil their safeguarding responsibility or able to secure best outcomes;
By creating an environment of reflection on outcomes that uses the voice and experience of young people and creates a community of practitioners who are prepared to be innovative whilst maintaining high standards. Planning, doing and reviewing in all we do.
