Building schools for the Future (BSF) is a government initiative that will rebuild or refurbish every secondary school in England over the next 10-15 years.
BSF will provide Bournemouth and Poole with modern school facilities that meet 21st century standards so our students will benefit from new ways of learning and improved facilities. Above all, the aim of BSF is to transform the education outcomes - and life opportunities - for young people across the boroughs, to ensure that every child can fulfil their potential.
All 24 secondary schools in Bournemouth and Poole will eventually participate in the BSF programme and sign up to a transformational vision for education.
However, not all schools will receive funding for building works or refurbishment at the same time.
Nine schools in North Bournemouth and North Poole have been selected for Wave 6 of the project, commencing spring 2008. Construction on the Wave 6 schools is expected to commence early 2011, with completion of the first schools anticipated for 2013.
Our other schools will join in later funding waves.
